To create a new template in Excel, follow the steps below. In this example, we will be creating the structure for a mortgage calculator.
File -> Blank Worksheet
We are going to create the following the following Mortgage Calculator template.

Click File -> Save As -> Excel Template (*.xltx)
Excel automatically creates a New Folder in your Documents Folder called “Custom Office Templates”
You will find that the Mortgage Calculator Template is now listed in the folder.
When you go to File -> Personal, you will now see the Mortgage Calculator template as an option.
